Secrets of Women Entrepreneurs

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I am happy to announce that I have been asked to be a contributing blogger for Deborah Bailey’s latest venture:
http://womenentrepreneursecrets.blogspot.com/

There was such a positive response to her women’s entrepreneur series on Blog Talk Radio, that she decided to gather the participating women into one online arena to share their expertise and experience that led them to the positions they hold today. It just serves as a reminder that no two paths are the same, and most roads to success are not without their detours. I’d love for you to check out my debut blog and share with me any comments you may have.

The column is also being syndicated by Downtown Women’s Club Blog Network (http://womensdish.typepad.com/partners/) and will soon join the Blogher.com’s network of female-centric blogs.

I read a quote this morning that I’ll share with you before it leaves my brain.
“The darker it is, the more stars you can see.” Or something like that.

Single Women Rule

Monday, December 8th, 2008

I recently discovered a new website that I thought was a great resource for women taking care of business.  I reached out to the partners behind www.singlewomenrule.com and we had a nice chat about sistas doin’ it for themselves.  Today, they are featured in an article in the Connecticut Post:

“(SWR is) an online hub for unmarried women that encourages them to strive for personal excellence, instead of focusing their energies on hunting down a mate.”

Global Girlfriend

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Be a global girlfriend this year and shop for change.

Created to help women worldwide gain economic security for themselves and their families by earning fair wages for their handiwork, Global Girlfriend sources women-made, fair-trade imported, eco-friendly products. By supporting long-term partnerships with the artisans, it fosters equal employment opportunities, healthy and safe working conditions, technical assistance, and development strategies to help reduce poverty, one community at a time.

Help women in Africa, India or Indonesia support themselves by buying their products.  Or if you prefer to put your dollar to work closer to home, check out the Queen B Bubble Bath line made by the women of New Orleans.  Ladies, these are affordable gifts with meaning and purpose.  Think about that when you’re standing in a killer line at a big box store wondering about the true meaning of Christmas.

Single Minded Women

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Our new FOF (Friend of the Family) Jill Brown, aka The Duchess, posted a holiday blog that I thought I should mention.

I like this blog in particular because she refers to being thankful for “blessings yet unseen.”  I find the concept of the universe creating plans for me strangely comforting.  Often, in times of transition, unsure of what the outcome will be, we find ourselves stressed and anxious.  But, what if we stretched our thinking a bit to allow for the fact that sometimes not knowing the outcome allows for its final appearance to be even that much more special?  It’s just a thought.

What do you think?

Welcome Coach Deborah Bailey

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

I am so excited to announce that we have recently added Coach Deborah Bailey to our THTM family.  For those of you who are desperate for advice about getting “unstuck” in your life, Deb is ready to help you tackle all obstacles - both real and imagined.  She is also well-versed in handling career changes and mid-life 180’s.

I was recently a featured guest on her radio show and will soon begin blogging for her at http://womenentrepreneursecrets.blogspot.com, along with a bunch of other super-talented, women business owners.   Please check out the blog and give a listen to Deb’s show.  She is always featuring inspiring women who are completely candid about how they got their start and began living out their dream.
